Never get out of the boat.   -unless you’re going all the way.

I’d say I had a good…  foot… out of the boat. Typical.

B.H. summed it up best the night- or one of the nights- Larry Gin & the Tonics- or wait- was it 7 O’Clock Sucker??  See, there it is again. So I was lending a hand hauling equipment into All-Star Bowl, Moorhead-  talkin’ maybe ’95 here-  and I’m telling him a story- doesn’t matter which one cause it’s how it’s told- and when he finally gets a word in, he nails it with, “You’ve got a lot of small town panache”.

Of course, uncertain of the definition of panache, I wasn’t sure whether to take it as a compliment, backhanded or otherwise, but the phrase has stuck with me, rings true and truer. -can’t escape it, and why bother; might be time to embrace it. So yeah: A lot of small-town panache.
